    EYE CARE

Most of our work is done on computers which is a visually intensive task.

Unfortunately, work pressure and lifestyle don’t permit us to be kind to our eyes.

Long hours spent in front of the computer screen can lead to a series of symptoms which are now termed as CVS or Computer Vision Syndrome.

These symptoms can occur in up to 90% of computer workers thereby causing decreased productivity and excessive fatigue.

As a fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic, students, as well as adults, are spending long hours in front of a computer or mobile screens. These devices emit high energy waves that can damage retinal cells, leading to various eye disorders.

Therefore, these tips come in handy

    1)  EXERCISE YOUR EYES

    - Take visual breaks – look at distant objects for 5-10 minutes and then return to

your task. This helps the eyes focus better. Repeat once every hour.

    - Blink several times. Then close your eyes and roll your eyeballs clockwise

anti-clockwise. Slowly open your eyes. Repeat thrice, it’s a good workout for tired

    eyes.

    - Sit straight and rub your palms against each other till they are warm. Lightly cup

your eyes with your palms and relax for 60 seconds ( count slowly in your mind ).

Repeat whenever your eyes feel tired.

    2) EAT HEALTHY

    - Drinks lots of water, it helps reduce puffiness.

    - Incorporate Vitamins A, C, and E into your diet.

    - Take lots of citrus fruits, leafy greens, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, milk products.

    3)  CONTACT LENSES AND GLASSES

    - Do not wear your lenses for more than 10-12 hrs in a day.

    - Never wear lenses while swimming.

    - Wear anti-glare glasses while working on your computer.

    4)  DRY EYES :

    - An air-conditioned office environment coupled with a computer-intensive job, is a

the perfect combination for dry eyes.

    - Blink often to get the tears back.

    - If dirt gets into the eyes, do not rub them, rather blink several times to get the tears flowing – this helps in flushing out the dirt.

    - Homoeopathic EUPHRASIA EYEDROPS are extremely effective in relieving

    eyestrain and dryness of eyes.

Being healthy is a personal choice and one has to work hard at it.

A balanced diet, regular sleep habits, a balance between work and rest, and exercises – all play a vital role in restoring our health and helping us maintain our eyesight.
